Brief Chapter History
The Alpharetta-Smyrna Alumni Chapter (ASA) of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. was chartered on September 24, 1989. ASA’s broad geographical span was established to ensure the chapter’s continued growth and to provide ASA with a greater opportunity to achieve its stated vision of “Fraternalism through Community Service”. The Alpharetta-Smyrna Alumni Chapter proudly and enthusiastically answers this call.
Under the early leadership of ASA’s founding members, ASA developed its organizational infrastructure and vision. Through the leadership of succeeding Polemarchs (Brothers Art Bryant, Stan Gay, Douglas Washington, Raymon Wright, Terry Francis, Martin Raxton and Darrell Stallings), ASA continue to define and refine its purpose to ensure that ASA’s future and its community service initiatives are sustained and even evolve.
Our annual scholarships awarded to deserving high school graduating seniors, our Guide Right program (targeted at young men from sixth to eighth grade at the Marietta Middle School) and our support and participation in Hands-on-Atlanta represent just three of the many varied activities that inspire community service and further foster the ideals of brotherhood through a Bond of Fraternity.
