One of the key focus areas of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. is servicing the community in which we exist. To display our commitment to the community, Alpharetta Smyrna Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. partners with the Krimson Community Foundation, Inc. annually to award scholarships to deserving high school seniors to assist in covering some portion of their college expenses. These scholarships are awarded to graduating male students in the Cobb, Cherokee, Paulding and North Fulton counties of the Metro-Atlanta area. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity.

Submission Prerequisites & Requirements

To apply, simply fill out our user-friendly online scholarship application. Be sure to complete the questionnaire and attach the necessary documents in PDF or MS Word format, following the outlined instructions. Our dedicated committee conducts a comprehensive review, considering factors such as financial need, academic achievements, leadership skills, and community service.

As a part of the application process, finalists will have the opportunity for a personal interview with members of our scholarship committee. Make sure to carefully review and follow the instructions provided. Submit your application online by the deadline of March 29, 2024. Scholarships are available for students who meet the following qualifications: 

  • US. Citizen
  • African-American Male
  • Graduating Senior
  • Cumulative G.P.A of 2.5 or better (based on a 4.0 grade scale)
  • Minimum SAT Math and English combined score of 1100 or ACT score of 20
  • If selected, an official letter from the Registrar’s office from the college/university that the recipient will be attending is required as proof of registration and attendance before financial awards can be disbursed.

Application Materials

❖ A completed scholarship application form – answer all fields marked as required.

❖ Attach a copy of the section of your Student Aid Report (SAR) that contains the Expected Family Contribution (EFC).

❖ Attach a double-spaced, typed composition/essay describing the goal(s) one hopes to achieve upon completion of his college education

❖ Attach an official copy of your SAT and/or ACT score(s)

❖ Attach an official copy of your academic transcripts(s)

❖ Attach three Letters of Recommendation from the following:

  • ✦ One letter from a school official (i.e., principal, teacher, counselor, coach, etc.)
  • ✦ One letter from a church or community acquaintance
  • ✦ An additional letter from either of the two sources listed above
